Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She joined ESPN in 2016. was a part of ESPN. The child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. It was the CBS station located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as the sports reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration, drug trafficking, and others on the Texas and Mexico border. Also, she was the Spanish reporter at the newscast from 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. on English and also a Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater duties. She also wrote articles on sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Aside from this she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was advertised as anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Also, she was an anchor on sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985 in Mexico City. There is an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. Her parents divorced within a short time and in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In the summer in 2006 she spent an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Still a senior in high school and yet knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue with her life Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. At the end of the day she fell in love with the university. They also offered her a the opportunity to study a major. Following her graduation from high school, she made the decision to go to the university to pursue a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became her friend. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
